Air Travel in Portugal
There are numerous internal flights between Lisbon, Porto and Faro. For the Azores and Madeira, flights leave from Lisbon. There are internal flights between the islands of the Azores, and between Funchal and Porto Santo.
There is an extensive domestic flight network operated by the national airline, TAP.

Any departure tax payable is included in the air fare and there should be no additional tax payable at the airport following check-in.

Travel by Road in Portugal
Car Travel in Portugal:
Traffic drives on the right. Every town and village can be reached by an adequate system of roads. Petrol stations generally open 0700-2000, although some are open 24 hours. Travel by motorway is subject to a toll according to distance covered and type of vehicle.
Driving Licence & vehicle documents must be carried at all times and you will need to bring your own national driving licence if planning to drive in Portugal. The minimum driving age is 18.
Several leading car hire companies operates in Portugal.

Trains in Portugal
Portugueses (Portuguese Railways) provides a rail service to every town. Alfa Pendular trains offer the fastest rail link from Lisbon to the Algarve and from the capital to the north (Porto, Braga or Guimarães, with stops in Coimbra and Aveiro); the Intercidades (Intercity) service covers Lisbon, Porto, Alentejo and Lisbon to Algarve routes.
Timetable information and tickets can be obtained at CP travel centres at major train stations.
Ticket and information counters at major stations are usually open between 06h00 & 22h00 every day.
